Youth Health Service is a private, non-profit, behavioral health and social service agency that
strives to encourage and support communicating, planning and acting between children and their families and between families and
their communities. We focus on both prevention and intervention solutions to issues that affect the health and well-being of a
particular child or group of young people.

Youth Health Service identifies community needs, develops and delivers high quality mental health, physical health, early education, day care and social services to children and their families. The agency tracts trends and the needs of children and families and designs relevant services to meet these needs and works to make these needs accessible and available to all families in the community through billing of third party insurances, competing for and winning state, national and local public, private and foundation grants, contracts or agreements for new services and through development of a network of community volunteers, students and other commmunity agencies that assist the agency in fulfilling its mission.

Young people who received services during a traumatic period in
their lives go on to become productive citizens in their community. A teen mother (now in her mid-30's) speaks for
when she first found out she was pregnant at 16 years old. "I was scared. I thought my parents would disown me.
I came to YHS and nobody looked down at me or made me feel dirty'. I just heard: 'Now this is a tough spot, but you
can grow through this experience. We're here to help and support you.' Today is my daughter's 21st birthday and
she's going to graduate from college this spring. I have a college degree, too, and have been working steady in a professional
job for 12 years. YHS helped me when I needed it most!"
The father of a 16 year old daughter tells a staff person, "Our family was going through a really tough time and YHS stuck by us and made a difference. My daughter is now
20 years old and the other day she said to me, 'Thanks for sticking by me, Dad.' You (YHS) helped keep our family
together; we're stronger then ever now."
